Nae Tennouji is the young daughter of Mr. Braun, raised in the CRT shop under the Future Gadget Lab and functionally adopted as the building's little sister. She trails after Mayuri, tolerates Okabe's theatrics with a politeness beyond her years, and sees — because children in shops see everything — considerably more of the building's secrets than anyone credits.
This section is deliberately understated in the anime and easy to miss. Nae is present, in the background, for at least three scenes where FB's phone is in frame. The wiki takes no position on what an eleven-year-old made of it. The Alpha visual-novel route takes one.
One infamous Alpha branch follows Nae after she pieces together her father's double life and its ending. The branch fast-forwards fifteen years to a Nae who has joined the Rounders herself — not out of loyalty to SERN but to get close enough to the people who used her father to return the favor. It is the franchise's bleakest ending, and the strongest argument in the text that ==the Rounders system is self-perpetuating by design==: it manufactures the orphans it later recruits. #lore
A child in a building full of secrets, orbiting a tragedy she cannot see the shape of yet. In the worst branch (above), its inheritor.
Simply a kid: homework at the shop counter, crane games with Mayuri on Sundays, a father who is only a shopkeeper. What the lab is fighting for, in miniature.
As Beta, plus one strange grown-up part-timer on a bicycle whom she adores without ever learning is family — her niece, born decades from now. Time travel's gentlest joke.

The Tennouji apartment, the shop, and the lab share one staircase, one breaker panel, and no soundproofing whatsoever. Nae's childhood is therefore scored by the building itself: the Phone Microwave tripping the power mid-cartoon, Okabe declaiming at the ceiling, her father bellowing back through the floor. She has learned to read the household's mood from the electricity — ==three brownouts in an hour means the lab is excited about something==, which historically means everyone should worry.
Fan cartographers reconstructing the building's floor plan rely heavily on Nae's "NOISY" map (below) — it is the only diegetic source that shows the shop's back room. See radio-kaikan for the district's other obsessively-mapped building.
- Named, like everything her father loves, indirectly after the CRT: Nae echoes the Braun tube's Japanese-market brand history, per a @channel fan-etymology thread that has never been confirmed.1
- Keeps a hand-drawn map of the neighborhood with the lab marked "NOISY."
- Can identify every regular customer of MayQueen NyanNyan by their walk. Daru finds this deeply unfair.
