Moeka Kiryu is a pale, silent woman who Okabe first encounters in Akihabara while she is hunting for a retro computer — the same IBN 5100 the lab needs to decode SERN's internal reports. She types constantly, answers questions by holding her phone screen up to your face, and joins the Future Gadget Laboratory as Lab Member No. 005 with a smile that never once reaches her eyes.
She is also, on the Alpha worldline, the field leader of the Rounders unit that raids the lab in episode-12 — the event that turns the story from comedy into tragedy and sets Okabe on his long war against causality.
Moeka's phone is the entire architecture of her personality. Her handler — known to her only as FB — communicates exclusively through it, and years of that arrangement have hollowed out every other relationship she has. When she loses access to FB in one worldline, the collapse that follows is total: not grief exactly, but the removal of the only load-bearing wall in a person.
Lab records credit her with the fastest confirmed typing speed of any member — Daru clocked her at ==120 words per minute on a numeric keypad== before she noticed him counting and left the room.
On Alpha-line branches, do not mistake her silence for passivity. The raid of August 2010 was planned around the lab's own schedule, which means she had been reporting on it for weeks — as a member.
Little of Moeka's background survives in any verifiable form; the following is assembled from Rounders personnel fragments recovered by Daru and from her own sparse statements. She grew up effectively invisible — the kind of person teachers forgot to call on — and was recruited into SERN's Rounders program in her late teens, apparently selected because nobody would miss her.1 FB gave her a codename, a mission, and a reason to wake up, in that order of importance.

The loyal instrument. She executes the raid, reports the lab's Phone Microwave to SERN, and is discarded by her employers almost immediately afterward — a detail Okabe only appreciates much later.
On Beta branches she never receives the order. She drifts through Akihabara still hunting the IBN 5100 for a handler who has stopped answering, which may be the crueler fate.
A freelance editor with a bad phone habit and no handler at all. She still doesn't talk much. Some architecture doesn't rebuild just because the war that built it never happened.
FB is Yuugo Tennouji — Mr. Braun, the lab's own landlord, himself a Rounder pressed into service years earlier. The revelation lands twice: once for the betrayal, and once for the symmetry, because FB ran Moeka exactly the way SERN ran him — through the one channel of affection the target could not afford to lose. The name comes from Ferdinand Braun, inventor of the CRT.2
